Book Suggestions

Is there a book you think would be good to do? Add it here.

  • The World is Flat by Tom Friedman (mentioned at Kathy's house)
  • Something about the current political situation (mentioned at Kathy's house)
  • Did we read 'A Thousand Splendid Suns'
    • ? I have not read it but saw that it was a book club favorite at the library.

Teachers all talking about a book called Islands or The Island or something along those lines. About a leper community. They have been raving about it all week. I will check and get better info.

  • I think this is the book you mentioned, Susan : The Island by Victoria Hislop (added by Martha)

Read 1000 Splendid suns. Wasn't as good as Kite Runner (I thought) was more from the woman's perspective and much more distressful but an accurate account of how women are treated in the Middle East.

Stephen King's recommended for summer reading:

Shatter by Michael Robotham
Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson
The Tourist by Olen Steinhauer
Drood by Dan Simmons
Dog on It by Spencer Quinn
Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult
Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens
